This is a well known beautiful hymn, whose arrangement is already "quite there" in terms of the chords (which is rare), more than almost any hymn, so leaving not much to do, I'm just going to just specify certian small details that's all. But in this case, I managed to find a recording of this played by me in the church's organ! (reason why I'm posting this one now) It was never meant to be recorded, so I had to edit all the major disturbances , and equalise the audio to my liking, but ofc be warned that disturbances and conversation noises are still here and there in the audio, but it's still worth listening! Note: Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. O Holy Night

This is the opening hymn of the church I go to, so I decided not to leave it out and posted this soon. I agree it doesn't require too many chord modifications at all, but it's very commonly played in our church, so here it is. Note: Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. Lord Keep Us Safe This Night

This is a very common song (especially for closing), so I decided not to leave it out and posted this soon. Also, the extra note in added 4 chord is exclusively for the bass note.

Abide With Me

Image
This is a very common song (especially for closing), so I decided not to leave it out and posted this soon. I agree it doesn't require too many chord modifications at all, but this is mainly for last verse, like you could slightly change some chords in each verse, and (if you're playing an organ) in the last verse, use a lot of stops/voices and use "beautiful but dissonant" chords like diminished 7ths, 7ths with flat 5, 6ths, etc. Note: Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. The symbol "->" denotes a bass run from the initial chord's bass note to the next chord's bass note (where the notes in the run is in scale)           In this case it was used for Fm to Bb/D (next line) in the 3rd line here, which means bass notes F,            Eb (passing note), then D. That's all. This is just to explain my "->" notation. Ideal for Pipe/Digital/Theatre Organs Any Doubts (or if you played some

Ennil Adanga Sthothiram (Tamil Worship Song)

Here is my first post of chords for a tamil song which I've played many times. This chord sheet has no repetition of lines to limit it's size and just 1 verse of the song. I'm posting a song with a simpler version of chords for once since many told me the chords usually are just too much to handle lol. Note: Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. (Tune: Ellers) Lord, When Thy Kingdom Comes, Remember Me

Image
I've heard this song being played by my piano teacher (Sam) in the church so many times that many of the chords are going to resemble his version. Of course, I have also added some signature chords of my own and tried to keep it "simple" as I could do. Note: Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good.    Note: The symbol "->" denotes a bass run from the initial chord's bass note to the next chord's bass note (where the notes in the run is in scale) In this case, the Em -> D/A transition involves bass run from E to higher A (i.e E F# G A), and  Am/C -> A transition involves bass run from C to lower A (i.e C B A) Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. I Surrender All

Note: The symbol "->" denotes a bass run from the initial chord's bass note to the next chord's bass note (where the notes in the run is in scale) In this case, in the first line of chorus, this symbol meant a fast run from Eb to (lower) Ab, i.e : Eb , C# , C, Bb, Ab Follow guidelines mentioned in my very first post if you want the chords to sound good. Note: The last 5 chords in 3rd line are a fast run A -> B , where A and B are chords, denotes a bass run from bass note of A to bass note of B Follow guidelines mentioned in my first post if you want the chords to sound good. Ideal for Pipe/Digital/Theatre Organs Ensure to use the best chord inversions (assuming your left hand plays the bass notes) Any Doubts (or if you played some of them wrong and you misunderstood the chords as being "bad"), please comment under the post.

O The Deep Deep Love Of Jesus

Ensure to follow the basic DOs and DONTs in the very first post of the blog while playing. Any inversion of the chords (preferable an inversion such that the note in the tune completes the chord) can be used in the right hand but the left hand should clearly play a strong bass for the bass notes specified for each chord. (Default is the root note of course) I always wanted to do This one as the original chords butchered the song.

First Post

Hey there, the purpose of this blog is to provide better chords for songs (of any genre, but mainly christian hymns) which I felt the original chords were not "upto the mark" at all. Of course, I don't believe in the "original is always better" mindset, I take the good parts and upgrade it. Always remember, when I put chords like "Eb/G", it is absolutely compulsory to play the G as a very low note (or even as 2 G bass notes as I do in the left hand) and then the rest of the chord with the right hand. Failing to do so, I won't guarantee the chords will sound that good. Personally, I got used to playing only the bass notes of the chords as octaves in left hand, and both the tune and the chords in the right. (Takes practice for the right hand indeed to multitask) Hope you like it! Do share the blog with others. If you have any requests, do leave a comment. If I could do so at that time, I would give chords for that too.
